CURRENT OPENINGS

Supply Chain Coordinator

The position leads to implementing an MRP system from BOM, procurement, workflow to cost analysis.

Tasks:

  • Select and Implement a Material Requirement Planning system.
  • Establish purchasing standards relative to lead times, quantities and approved suppliers
  • Establish shipping and receiving standards
  • Assist in the maintenance of the Approved Supplier List
  • Understand, analyze, and prepare reports on purchasing data from an accounting point of view
  • Promote and sustain lean purchasing and inventory practices
  • Research and source alternative suppliers or parts and materials
  • Negotiate, execute and monitor purchasing contracts
  • Maintain inventory min’s and max’s
  • Set-up kanban system
  • Manage shipping & receiving of items
  • Place orders

Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to communicate and direct supplier activities at the management level
  • Experience with MRP or ERP systems required
  • Experience with accounting data analysis and reporting is an asset

DROPLET is a participant in a Youth Employment and skill Strategy work experience program targeted at post-secondary students. Process Improvement Engineer - 5S

We are an innovative start-up company with a small energetic team. We are growing and need some help with streamlining our production process following lean manufacturing concepts 5S.

Tasks:

  • Analyze process improvement opportunities
  • Build jigs, fixtures using in-house technology (CNC router, 3D printing,..)
  • Create work instructions and train the production team
  • Expand the Kanban system

Requirements:

This is a very hands-on position. You need to love designing and building stuff with your hands.

Also, the position is subsidized. Please note eligibility criteria for students:

  • Registered full-time or part-time in a publicly funded Canadian post-secondary institution in any program,
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act,
  • International students with a work permit are not eligible,
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada by relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations,
  • The student’s post-secondary institution must recognize the WIL (work-integrated learning) experience to be eligible.

Contract length: 4 months

Salary: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

CNC Operator & Programmer

We are looking for a motivated individual to take control of our CNC operations from programming to operating. Some side assembly jobs will need to be completed while the CNC is working and does not need full attention.

Tasks:

  • The program cut files (Vcarve Pro)
  • Schedule jobs
  • Check and maintain inventory of raw material
  • Operate the CNC
  • Maintain the CNC
  • Build fixtures

Requirements:

A grant partially funds this position. Please note eligibility criteria for students:

  • Registered full-time or part-time in a publicly funded Canadian post-secondary institution in any program,
  • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act,

Salary: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Maker, Builder, Woodworker

You will not do the same thing all day long. You’ll be assembling our campers with pride from start to finish. We’ll discuss your suggestions to improve the process and build jigs and fixtures to make our lives easier. As the company grows, you’ll have the opportunity to learn new trades, machines, software.

The assembly worker will work with the assembly team. She (he) will participate in all assembly tasks, track her (his) progress, and be involved in some inventory and quality control.

Tasks:

  • Receive parts and sub-assemblies from suppliers
  • Adjust inventory level
  • Read drawings and check parts conformity. Flag non conform parts (NCP)
  • Prepare assembly line, tools and collect parts for next job
  • Assemble parts
  • Track and report progress
  • Clean up and keep tools organized
  • Report problems
  • Suggest process improvements. Design new fixtures and jigs to improve quality and process
  • Build new fixtures and jigs to improve quality and process

Responsibilities :

  • Follow work instructions
  • Fill up timesheets and report variances
  • Track and Report inventory levels
  • Use and maintain Kanban inventory system.
  • Report quality issues
  • Suggest improvements
  • Report safety concerns

The production supervisor will work full-time with the assembly worker for the first four weeks. The assembly worker will be shadowing and learning. Once trained, the assembly worker will be paired with a senior assembly worker for significant tasks. He will work independently on sub-assemblies that suit her(his) abilities and interest. The supervisor will check and guide the first article and randomly during the production process.

The technical director will train and mentor the assembly worker on process-related topics, lean manufacturing, inventory management. 30 min training will be provided weekly.
