Our new free campsite offers gorgeous views in the tranquility of nature

Good news: now there is! We’re so excited to share that we have a new campsite right here in British Columbia that’s 100% free for all Droplet owners!

Let’s look closer at this campsite, and how to reserve your spot today. (Don’t worry. If you aren’t a Droplet owner, you can still stay at this fantastic site.)

Introducing Our New Free Campsite for Droplet Owners

Droplet is all about making camping more accessible for everybody. Since the earliest days of Droplet, our founder Pascal has had a dream: to have a free campsite for all Droplet owners. We’re thrilled to announce that now, that dream is a reality!

The campsite is located north of Vancouver, BC in Lillooet. It sits on a 300-acre ranch property in the unspoiled wilderness of the Yalakom Valley. This private campsite is the perfect place to get away and enjoy the peace with some creekside camping.

Our Droplet campsite features an outhouse, deck, and shade, plus LED lighting, a food prep counter, and a Solo Stove fire pit. There, you can enjoy 1,500 feet of creekside all to yourself or take a short 15-minute trip to one of the surrounding lakes. Other recreation opportunities at the site include hiking, biking, fishing, and in the winter, cross-country skiing and low-impact snowshoeing trails.

Creating Community is a Team Effort

We partnered with students at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design and the Centre for Advanced Wood Processing at UBC Forestry to craft an incredible campsite

To help make the campsite the best it can be, Droplet worked with students at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Two groups totalling 20 students were involved in creating the initial concept for the campsite. Thanks to these brilliant young minds, our new campsite is beautifully made with quality craftsmanship and chic designs.

Finding Unique, Sustainable Building Materials

As a part of the project, we’ve used thermally treated hemlock ThermoWood from Scottywood. Hemlock is a lower-value wood obtained from the forestry industry that’s not typically used for construction.

Through heat treatment, the protein in the wood is removed. This prevents decay and creates the perfect material for the furniture and platform at our campsite.

We were also lucky enough to have help from the Centre for Advanced Wood Processing (CAWP) at UBC Forestry. The talented students at CAWP helped us process and cut the wood to help build this awesome campsite.

With the help of our partners, we’ve worked tirelessly from start to finish to make this the ultimate off-the-grid campsite for Droplet owners. We’re so excited for you to experience it; the best part is that you don’t have to wait. The campsite is available now for booking on our website!

Are you a Landowner? Let’s Partner!

To further our efforts to make camping even easier, Droplet will soon be offering a flat-pack campsite that landowners can assemble in just 3 hours!  Our goal is to help landowners who want to get on Hipcamp. We take the intimidation out of creating an inviting camping experience.

  1. Pascal,
Is there a Droplet on site to sleep in if not an owner. I sold my test drop last year but would love to try out your camp in the Yalakom Valley.
